S3-08 Ng Zhi En Reuben

Day 1:

Pinging is much cooler and the sky is much clearer because of usage of cleaner ways to get energy, unlike Kao Shiong where they burn coal for electricity so it very dirty and polluted. This shows that the usage of clean energy sources will make the weather cooler and make the sky much nicer. So we can try to use cleaner ways to get the energy we needed and care for the environment.

Day 2:

Near the hill top there was a coral reef area. This is because due to the plate movements, the oceanic plate ended up above, therefore there were coral reefs high up in the mountains. At first, when Mr Tan said that there was coral reefs on the top of the mountain, I could not believe him as it sounded really unrealistic. But once i saw it with my eyes, I was shocked and mesmerised. From then on, I learnt that seeing is believing.

Day 3:

In the afternoon, when we were waiting for our materials to be ready, there was about a gap in between. During that time, I took a dead spider then put it under the microscope. Then I just looked through the microscope. What made this so interesting is that I haven't seen an actual insect under a microscope before and it was a first time experience. The spider looked really big and hairy. From this experience, I learnt that we should always be focusing on our surroundings, as sometimes there may be something interesting for us to see and experience.

Day 4:

The image that I have chosen is the nurse shark. What's so interesting about the nurse shark, is that it looks and is very different from the kind of sharks I know. I always thought that all sharks have sharp teeth and like to eat a lot of meat but that is very different with the nurse shark. The person told me it doesn’t have sharp teeth and it doesn’t bite people. So what I have learnt is that what we think and what we have learnt may not always be right, as somethings may differ from what we think and it is up to us to uncover the truth.

Day 5:

My picture is a fish which name I cannot remember. This fish is very special as its body is very hard, therefore making it not flexible. So when the fish wants to make a turn, it can’t bend its body towards the direction, and have turn its entire body to the direction it wants. Also, it cannot swim fast. The guide also stated that this fish is like those ancient kind of fish. From this, I learnt that we should learn to adapt and always improve ourselves, if not we would be at a severe disadvantage in the things we do. Adapting is very crucial, as it is very important to our survival.

Day 6:

My picture is about the coral tank. I chose this picture, because the coral tank looks really cool and nice. When I compared it to the picture I took of it 2 days ago, there was a huge difference, which is the colour of the water. 2 days ago, the water in the tank was really murky and was really hard to see the corals in the tank. But today, the water was so clear, I thought there wasn't even any water. From this comparison, I learnt that patience is very important, as being patient will always lead us to a better ending.
