Publishing: I saw the uranium fuel structure. I learnt that only 10% of the energy in the fuel is harnessed.

Processing: This made me curious.

Generalising: The structure of the way the power station was built or the fuel was structured water the energy in the fuel.

Applying: I can find out why the energy is lost by researching or experimenting.

Publishing: I saw a coral reef that was once under the sea. I felt very curious of why the sea level dropped and did not rise due to global warming and the polar caps melting.

Processing: I did feel very curious and wanted to find out why. But unable to do so because of time constrain and the problem that there was no wifi

Generalising: I guess that it was the land that rose and not the sea that fell.

Applying: I can find out how this happened by researching or experimenting.

Publishing: As you can see in the picture, the residue of the mixture is already separated from the rest of the mixture. But I wonder why the water above it is still cloudy? I put in FSW which is not cloudy and is the main solution. I was feeling a bit doubtful about the centrifuge now.

Processing: It was a good situation as it sparked my curiosity to research on the topic.

Generalising:I discovered that only solids sink to the bottom during centrifugation and thus from this I can conclude(guess) that the solution is white because of a liquid that is inside the solution to make it white.

Guess was wrong: some particles in the tube have a mass too small to be pulled down by the force, making the solution cloudy.

Applying: The way I guessed this concept was by thinking out of the box to guess an new idea. I can apply this to life by thinking out of the box and creativity when constructing my project ideas.

Publishing:The turtle was having a disease that resulted in tumours forming on its body. I was feeling very pitiful for the turtle because no one would like to have tumours because you have to go through lots of pain to get rid of them.

Processing: What was good experience because I got to know of a new disease the affects turtles(causes tumour). But it was also not so good because it was not nice seeing the turtle hurt.

Generalising: The disease is called Fibropapillomatosis and it likes to exist in warmer places in the world.

Applying: I can apply the knowledge of this disease to ask myself questions and to spark my curiosity.

Publishing: The photo shows a small anemone view under a magnification device. At first, we could not find the anemone, because it was too small to be picked up or to be view easily. Then, we consulted the instructor’s help. He took around 20 minutes trying to find the sample and get it out because it was too small that even he had difficulty locating it. Once he located it, he could not suck it up. So, we had to use a tweezer to get the small anemone out, even if it seemed impossible. Through this, I felt appreciated.

Processing: The good part about the situation is that we got another set of data. But I also feel sorry for the instructor because he had to sacrifice so much of his break time for us. And I appreciate his help a lot.

Generalising: I learnt that in life, we should never forget the people who helped you in the past. Not only that, we should appreciate and remember their help and hopefully return it to them some day.

Applying: To apply this, we can start a ripple of kindness and help other people too, with the same patience and devotion. I could even provide the smallest bit of help such as helping my friends return their plates. As “No act of kindness, no matter how small, is wasted”.

Publishing: As you can see in the image, there is a container of water inside the ROV. I felt curious as I thought “why is there a jar of water in the ROV?”. So I asked Mr Tan why was there a container of water is there. He told me that it was to make the ROV’s density neutral.

Processing: It was a good experience as I learnt a new concept. It was a bad experience as I thought about the time the staff had to spend to prepare this system and felt guilty for using their time.

Generalising: I learnt that to make a device neutral, we can add weights, containers of water, or pockets of air.

Applying:To apply is, we can apply this to our project to make the solar panels on our project of a higher density of water to allow it to float with weights, containers of water, or pockets of air.
